Check out IPÊ’s results from the last year and stay informed about the work we do in four different areas: Scientific Research, Education, Socio-environmental Businesses, and Networking and Partnerships. All of our projects are based on social participation for the environmental transformations we want to see in Brazil and, of course, around the world, in favor of biodiversity. In the face of so many emergencies we are experiencing, our aim is to implement impactful changes and inspire similar actions, so that we can live in a society that considers biodiversity conservation central to socioeconomic transformation and addressing climate challenges.

OUR NUMBERS
Financial Report IPÊ
We present our technical and financial results, what we do to achieve them and which partners and collaborators we work with. Each achievement speaks about new possibilities of living and being in the world. Biodiversity conservation is central to socioeconomic transformation and facing critical challenges such as the one we are currently experiencing with the climate crisis. With our work, we seek to carry out the necessary transformations to overcome these challenges, through science, innovation, education and social participation.
Since its foundation in 1992, IPÊ has always been determined to act for the conservation of Brazilian biodiversity. In these 30 years, positive results have been obtained, through the dedication of our teams, partnerships with companies, and articulations with public authorities. These achievements only encourage us to move forward in our mission.
Here is a publication celebrating this anniversary and our latest results.
“The year 2020 represented a time of great challenges and a test of our ability to deal with adversity. The changes that the world underwent, and that also affected us, made us rethink some of our approaches, always with the concern to maintain our commitment to the institutional mission and also to keep the team supported and strengthened.” Eduardo H. Ditt, Executive Secretary.
Check the activities report for the latest results of IPÊ’s work in the most varied formats, and learn how our actions influence the life of nature and of people. Here you can access data about our projects in the Atlantic Forest, Amazon, Cerrado, and Pantanal. Also, check out all about ESCAS courses and our campaigns to bring society closer to biodiversity.

FINANCIAL REPORT AND AUDIT OPINION
In 2018, we continue to celebrate important results for the conservation of Brazilian biodiversity. These are the achievements of the black lion tamarin, the tapir, and the giant armadillo, despite the continuous pressures on their natural habitats and their lives; achievements of the people who are with us on this journey, 200 families who today work with alternative income methodologies in favor of biodiversity; and achievements of the students we graduate through our school, ESCAS, who are today transforming the socio-environmental reality in several places. The year was also a time to expand our actions with the approval of the LIRA – Amazon Region Integrated Legacy, benefiting more than 80 Conservation Units and Protected Areas in the biome. Follow our results.

In 2010, IPÊ celebrated 18 years, with a team of 80 professionals, 15 of whom are masters and 10 doctors. The year was marked by the Institute’s contribution to species conservation and forest restoration, the creation of milestones in public policies for the conservation of Conservation Units, contact and discussions with the business community about biodiversity, new institutional partnerships, strengthening of its education centers (CBBC and ESCAS), and the winning of awards that recognize not only the efforts, but also the results of this year’s work.
This report presents an excerpt from IPÊ’s timeline: achievements in the year 2009. It is an interesting piece of our history because, besides contemplating projects and initiatives that have always integrated the IPÊ model of operation, it is full of innovations that we consider fundamental for the success of our actions.
The preparation for the challenges of IPÊ’s growth and the continuity of its actions was one of the most important issues in 2008. After a five-year strategic planning exercise carried out at the end of 2007, the professional team and the board started a new stage of development and consolidation of the Institute’s various initiatives.
The document presented here has been formatted to show project-by-project results with emphasis on the objectives, main results, and, where relevant, the beneficiaries. The last five years have been extraordinary for the institution. As you will see in the following pages, we have achieved goals never imagined, and have delivered results beyond expectations.
