Sustainable Business

The Sustainable Business Unit (SBU) of IPÊ is an innovative project that culminated in the creation of an area of the organization specialized in creating alternatives of participation and social involvement on behalf of biodiversity from projects with communities and business partnerships.

From this initiative, projects to support income generation in communities have already emerged, such as “Sewing the Future“(dwellers of the rural zone of Nazaré Paulista learn to embroider T-shirts, purses and accessories in 100% cotton fabric, with prints of animals at risk of extinction and, at the same time they learn a function, increase the family income, their self-esteem and love for nature, by participating in activities with environmental educators and planting), the “Pura Bucha” (settlers’ families produce organic bushings that are customized and shaped like animals from Brazilian fauna) and “Café com Floresta” (settlers’ families are guided to form an agro-forest, combining the planting of native trees with the cultivation of agro-forestry coffee).

Under this same umbrella are partnerships with companies that have in the Sustainable Business Unit a channel to promote Cause Related Marketing (CRM) campaigns, a way to promote their image/brand/product and at the same time invest in environmental conservation actions. Such partnerships as Havaianas IPÊ, Danoninho para Plantar, Tricard/Tribanco, Faber Castell, and Brahma are important examples of how products can be allies of an organization, serving as a bridge between a cause and society. From these partnerships, the institution has been able to form a reserve fund that allows it to plan for the future and invest in improvements.
