Joy in the Foot, Forest in the Foot

Joy Seal

The “Alegria no Pé, Floresta de Pé” project – carried out by Brahma in partnership with IPÊ – aims to create a fund for the conservation of Brazil’s forests and green areas, uniting soccer and nature. For every goal scored in the country’s biggest leagues, the equivalent of 100 native trees will be invested in the environmental fund.

The debut of this project took place during the last round of the 2012 Brazilian Championship, with a goal difference of 25, thus adding up to 2,500 native trees in the wild, which will be conserved by IPÊ through reforestation and maintenance of areas in the process of restoration. The proposal of 1 goal = 100 trees will continue until 2014, covering the matches of the 2013 and 2014 Brazilian Championship, the Confederations Cup and the World Cup in Brazil.
